We are Eloise and Nic, sister and brother, running a fun choir called Blue Spirit Vocals. We are really excited about this venture and have a fun packed year planned.

I love singing and most of all I love making beautiful noise with the Blue Spirit Angels and sharing our voices every Friday evening. The perfect way to end the week and begin the weekend. I became a chorister under the direction of Robert Latham at Bristol Cathedral when I was 15 and soon after I  joined Bristol Schools’ Chamber Choir. At this time I started singing lessons and I gained a Recital Diploma and my ALCM in music Theatre.

Choir was a huge part of my late teens and Friday evenings have been spent at Redland UR Church since I was 15! Singing in many prestigious venues, Westminster Abby, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Empire State and one special memory for me was singing a ‘Beatles’ medley, (of course arranged by Bobby) on a choir tour around the John Lennon Imagine Mosaic in Strawberry fields, NY!

My passion for singing was hidden under a shy exterior for many years until I was given the opportunity to play the lead Soprano  in several Gilbert and Sullivan Opera’s which has included a performance at the Buxton Opera House.

I have worked in schools around Bristol most recently at Redland High School but now I teach privately and work with a looked after children project originally funded by Sing up and now funded by WNO, and love every minute!

Alongside singing, Yoga is a strong passion of mine and I hope to share this with you in the future. Singing and breathing are vital energy for your soul.

Nic Adams – Accompanist and Assistant Director

From the age of seven I learnt to play the piano, this helped build my passion for music, theatre and the arts. I studied music and theatre studies throughout college and university, gaining a degree in Creative Music Technology.

I have been a qualified school music teacher for 3 years teaching children from Primary school age to GCSE and BTEC. Currently teaching at The Castle School (Taunton), I also teach piano and love to play the drums and harmonica.

Before starting up Blue Spirit Vocals with Eloise in January 2010, I was the accompanist for Bristol Chamber Choirs for 2 years. I am currently the pianist for 40’s swing band the ‘Deane Big Band’ based in Taunton. I also enjoy arranging, engineering and producing recordings for bands, singers and choirs.

My favorite part of the week is finishing on a high with the amazing singers of Blue Spirit Vocals.

Hannah with her daughter Holly who sings in the Choir.

We would like to thank our additional accompanists Giuseppe Bavetta, Helen Mills and the ever dependable, incredibly talented and un-flappable Hannah Loach who manages to get Nic out of sticky situations when the music’s too hard or he hasn’t been practicing! Also the invaluable help of ‘team A’ and their leader Annabel Astle for prepping squash and biscuits being there when every one else has left the building.

Blue Spirit Vocals’ inspiration is the fabulous Robert Latham. Through a wealth of experience, years of professional choir leadership and mentoring Eloise, Robert now advises Blue Spirit Vocals on repertoire and even arranges songs especially for the choir. A truly wonderful man who has inspired us to begin this venture and work with a new generation of amazing young singers.
